The Danish Council on Ethics has recently proposed a ’treatment council’ – designed to make economical prioritizing of treatments in the Danish Health sector. In Pharma Evidence we believe that this is a great improvement and especially good news for people with “non-sexy” deceases, who until now have been overlooked.
The primary reason for implementing this council is the rapid development in treatment options that has made it possible to cure deceases like arthritis, which previously would have goon untreated. This is of course wonderful news, but has created a great pressure on the Danish public health care system. The development so far has shown us that no prioritizing is just another form of prioritizing
